We are closed every Sunday and during all major holidays, and available for free phone quotes 7 days a week. How long does refinishing a hardwood floor take? That depends on the size of the project. Normally sanding & finishing is a three day process, but allow four in case the finish isnt dry from one day to the next,depending upon weather conditions. How long should I wait before walking on floors after refinishing? Finished floors should be dried within 24 hours for walking and gently placing furniture(no dragging). Allow at least two weeks before placement of area rugs. Do I have to be out of the house? NO, depending on your floor plan and rooms we are working on. You will not have access to the room/s for 8-10 hours while finish is drying. Why are there dents in my floors? Although the wood installed is,indeed, a hard wood, it can be dented by heavy objects such as heavy furniture,high heels, dragging furniture. To help prevent dings and dents, we recommend that you use floor protectors under your furniture and rugs in high traffic areas. Will my house be covered in dust? We use dustless sanding equipment.
