MEA was founded in 1979 by a group of physicians who understood that patients' medical needs often occurred outside the traditional 8am to 5pm clinic setting. The first MEA Medical Clinic opened in Pearl and offered extended hours, including Saturday, with no appointment needed to see the doctor. MEA now has thirteen clinics, with locations in Pear... l, Madison, Canton, South Jackson, Brandon, Byram, Clinton, Flowood, Richland, the North Clinic on Old Canton Road, Vicksburg and Laurel. Primary Care Clinics were added in 1998 to provide a continuum of care, and is located in Ridgeland. Additionally, MEA offers drug testing onsite and at all Ambulatory Care Clinics. MEA also provides an Employee Assistance Program through MEA Cares.
