Even then, optimization is critical to gaining economic benefits from CO2. Young vines (as opposed to row crops) afford an opportunity for a small clear plastic enclosure to further optimize gas residency and maximize the CO2 benefits. These enclosures would allow Carbogation technology to be extended up the west coast and into other orchard regions that don't exhibit the same stagnant air conditions as Central Valley, CA. Erickson believes the "gaseous media" capabilities of the Carbogation system will provide vineyard managers with an important new management tool for addressing a host of agronomic issues.
