Carbogation systems distributed on average 1/2 ton of gas per day per acre for 45 to 60 days on row crops depending on weather and daylight hours. Carbogation delivered gas is highly susceptible to wind (what we term "Gas Residency"), so Central Valley, well known for stagnant air conditions and severe air pollution, is perfectly suited for AG Gas technology. Even then, optimization is critical to gaining economic benefits from CO2. Young vines (as opposed to row crops) afford an opportunity for a small clear plastic enclosure to further optimize gas residency and maximize the CO2 benefits. These enclosures would allow Carbogation technology to be extended up the west coast and into other orchard regions that don't exhibit the same stagnant air conditions as Central Valley, CA. Gas optimization using advanced computerized control is key. Erickson believes the "gaseous media" capabilities of the Carbogation system will provide vineyard managers with an important new management tool for addressing a host of agronomic issues. "I am a beekeeper", says Erickson. "The Carbogation system capability could easily deliver the new honeybee products that categorically stimulate honeybee activity, and thus induce greater pollination.
