After graduating high school, he attended Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia and achieved a Diploma of Ministry. Upon returning to New York, Jonathan became the worship leader at his local church and continued working as a carpenter. His skills had occasionally been called on by his brother-in-law, Ryan Parsons, to help install and clean gutters for The Brothers, but these casual side jobs became more serious after accepting a sales opportunity through the company. Under Ryan and Ken's established eyes, Jonathan became a valuable all-around team resource, honing his sales experience while refining his natural hands-on talents. In the summer of 1999, Jonathan moved with his wife Emily to Tinton Falls, New Jersey to become the worship leader at a new church plant, while working in the construction industry.
