MESNAC, one of the world's leading tire equipment manufacturers and software providers, has purchased a majority interest in the Akron based Test Measurement Systems, Inc., (TMSI) for an undisclosed amount. The TMSI brand and identity will be retained. TMSI CEO Dr. Jerry Potts and other senior management staff will remain with the business and work with MESNAC to identify opportunities for growth, product innovation and diversification. TMSI, which was founded in 2000, specializes in the design and manufacture of custom-designed scientific and test engineering systems for the tire and automotive industry. MESNAC is a global enterprise that supplies a wide range of tire manufacturing equipment ranging from raw material mixing to final product testing. It has research institutes in US, UK, Europe, Qingdao and Beijing and has sales and service operations in North/Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, India and Greater China. Mr. Wang Jinjian, President of Mesnac said: "Development of the next generation of test and measurement machines will be greatly enhanced by the acquisition of TMSI and the contribution from Dr Potts and his team. The collaboration between TMSI and MESNAC's global R&D facilities, especially the R&D institute in Asia, will greatly enhance our ability to provide global customers with leading edge technology." Dr. Potts suggested "MESNAC's global marketing and service network will provide TMSI with strong growth prospects and which will bring our customers more value-added solutions and services."
