Wild Island

Wild Island employs approximately 400 people, 80% of whom are teenagers, making the company the largest single employer of teenagers in Northern Nevada. Coconut Bowl is open 363 days a year. The company give out approximately 30 scholarships a year to exemplary employees to help them defray the cost of college or trade school. For 90 days a year in... the summer, the company is the largest single purchaser of fries in Northern Nevada. Wild Island is water efficient, using less than 50 acre-feet of water per year. Kokomo's, the bar at the company's waterpark, is not named after the Beach Boys song, but a small town in Indiana, and its murals are something you have to see. Many, many of the company's employees work for the company from 14 or 15 years of age through college. The company don't mean to brag, because we've kissed a lot of frogs, but former employees of Wild Island include doctors, dentists, nurses, EMTs, lawyers, teachers, college professors, chefs, physicists, accountants, engineers, pharmacists, bankers, members of all branches of the military, physical therapists, speech pathologists, restaurant managers, marketing specialists, real estate agents, preachers, lotsa mommies and daddies and last, but not least, waterpark managers!
