Whitehall Township Emergency Management purses an "all hazard" planning strategy in the classic four phases of Emergency Management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery". The company provides numerous services to the residents and township to include: Develop, review and improve the township's disaster preparedness and recovery plans fo... r "All Hazards" Distribute and coordinate those plans on a township wide basis Operate, maintain, and enhance the township's Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Manage and coordinate township wide response to, and recovery from, natural and technological disasters. Coordinate the township's disaster response/recovery needs with higher levels of government. Serve as the coordination point for federal disaster relief programs. Develop and deliver public information and education programs about disaster preparedness. Plan, conduct, and critique exercises that test and improve preparedness. Develop, distribute, and provide instructions on guidelines for business and industrial disaster planning. Develop, instruct, and coordinate Citizens Emergency Response Teams (C.E.R.T) The Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) for the Township responsibilities involve developing, reviewing, updating, and maintaining the Township Emergency Operation Plan, and managing the Township's Emergency Management Agency, a dedicated volunteer staff . The documents provide guidance in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from possible disasters that may affect the Township, to help lessen their effects and ensure that basic needs and services continue with as little interruption as possible.
