Trinity United Methodist Church designates a specific charity each month to which the monthly mission offering is given. Our offerings reach both near and far to a variety of ministries. June: Connectional Ministries thi... s is also a part of our apportionments which is our offering to the conference for these ministries which include but are not limited to: This offering is used by Trinity for the purposes of ordering shoeboxes to have on hand for members to fill during October and November, to add items as needed to the shoeboxes received, or to assist with the shipping of the shoeboxes. This is a ministry that was formed by families and friends seeking to prepare for the future of their loved ones with developmental disabilities. They maintain homes for adults with special needs, so that they can live in a Christian environment with a professional staff dedicated to providing a loving home. (aldersgatespecialneedsministry.org) Trinity receives an offering twice a year for this ministry. Epworth does not receive funds from apportionments. The first offering was in May for the Mothers Day Offering. In September, it is called the Work Day Offering and supports the needs of the home. (epworthchildrenshome.org) This committee receives and distributes every penny to people, agencies, and areas hit by disasters in our country and around the world. They are often first-responders when it comes to those hit by natural disasters. They also supply flood buckets, hygiene kits, school kits, and kits of other kinds to persons in need. We refer to it as the Mercy Center.
