About Tombstone
Tombstone's story begins in 1969 at The Tombstone Tap in Medford, Wisconsin. Yep, Tombstone's pizza started in a Wisconsin bar not the wild west. Thats not to say the bar wasnt wild. For starters, it got its name from a cemetery across the street. So, wheres the pizza fit in? Well one day, the bars owner Joe Simek broke his leg dancing. Yep, he was doing the Peppermint Twist. While taking a break from bartending and busting moves, Joe started to make TOMBSTONE® Pizza right from the Tombstone Tap kitchen. The locals loved the pizza. So Joe and his brother packed up their 59 Cadillac with some pizzas and dry ice and started delivering their signature frozen pizza across Wisconsin. Word spread and it wasnt long before they opened their own factory right in Medford, WI to supply the nation with tavern style pizza.Explore more
