Hi, my name is Melissa Tranchet and as the founder of The Practice Room, I warmly welcome you to my studio in Winterthur, Switzerland. As a performing artist and passionate educator, I specialize in bringing communities together through theatrical courses and experiences. Why? In 2007 and again in 2017, Kanton Zürich voted that English will be the... second language taught in local schools starting as early as age 7, followed by French at age 11. As an educator and a native English speaker, I have found that engaging students through acting, singing, and dancing encourages them to actively practice English in a repetitive way that is fun, physical, and vocal. Melissa Tranchet is a performing artist and passionate educator who specializes in bringing communities together through theatrical courses and experiences. As a graduate of the University of Michigans prestigious Musical Theatre B.F.A. program and a member of the Actors Equity Association, Melissa performed professionally in New York City and toured the United States in such shows as Oklahoma!, NINE, Merrily We Roll Along, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Brigadoon, My Fair Lady, and many more. Over the past decade, Melissas creative journey in Zürich, Switzerland has led her to direct, choreograph, perform, and teach with various groups including Zürich International School, the Theater Arts Collaborative, Close Encounters Theatre, Konservatorium Winterthur, ComunicArt, Jugendstimmen Zürich, Places!
