That all refugees and other migrants have access to the language development and learning and employment opportunities that they need to achieve their full social and economic potential; and that cultural and linguistic identity are appreciated as strengths to be encouraged, enjoyed and valued. To provide education and employment pathways for refug... ees and other migrants for whom English is an additional language and to support activities which maintain cultural and linguistic identity. MCLaSS was founded in 1994 and has supported the refugee and migrant community in the Wellington region for over two decades. Initially having the sole purpose of supporting a group of new Somali refugees in Wellington, MCLaSS has come a long way since then. We are a not for profit organisation. Our services are delivered primarily through the support of the Tertiary Education Commission and the Ministry of Social Development, also supported through grants from the Wellington City Council, DIA, C H Izard Trust, Wellington Community Trust, ACE Aotearoa, and by the community venues where we conduct classes and interviews at affordable rentals.Read More
