As technology has expanded options around fertility, women have been looking for alternatives to expensive fertility treatments and hormonal birth control to track their cycle. A biomedical engineer by training, Michael came up with the idea for Tempdrop as a way to bridge the gap between fertility apps and hassle-free tracking. After developing a prototype for Tempdrop, Michael launched a crowdfunding campaign in early 2014. While the campaign itself did not reach its funding goals, the funds that were raised and the outpouring of support from women everywhere helped Michael recruit a team and solidified his resolve to build Tempdrop. Meanwhile, the emergence of the "quantified self" and the idea that the company's smartphones can be powerful tools for personal health awareness propelled Tempdrop forward. Launched in early 2017, Tempdrop continues to be at the forefront of this conversation.
