By 2050, the worlds population is expected to reach 9.6 billion. The challenge is to provide an environment in which all people are living well but within the constraints of Earths resources. Demand for food will increase. Food preferences will change to include more meat in the diet, and energy usage will rise. All of this consumption leads to more demand for fertilizers and consequently higher gas emissions; it will also create opportunities for businesses to develop new concepts and services to address these challenges.
