Sunset Marketing is one of the most innovative and recognized promotional marketing / advertising specialty firms in the entire country. It all started back in 1970 in a garage in California, the classic American story of 2 friends going into... business together (Apple, Microsoft, HP, etc.). But George Horton and Rick Cohn were hardly "techies;" this was Southern California, and they had the idea of Silk-Screening catch phrases on T-shirts and selling them in local department stores. Their big epiphany came with Capital Records a few years later, when they were able to demonstrate they could effectively print the highly colorful graphic art on record albums onto T-shirts and other promotional apparel (caps, sweatshirts, etc.). Soon after they were a "hit" with major Record Labels. his sudden demand prompted George and Rick to create innovative techniques to better streamline the manufacturing and production process. In the early 1980's they took on the motion picture business and quickly earned a reputation for cost-effective, high quality, creative designs, delivered on time. Over the next few decades Sunset Marketing continued to grow and at one time created promotional items for all the top studios including: Universal, Warner Bros., Paramount, Fox, Columbia / Sony, MGM, Disney, and DreamWorks.
