Stephen Ongpin

Stephen Ongpin has nearly thirty years of experience as a dealer in Old Master, 19th century and Modern drawings. He began his career at the famous art dealership of P. & D. Colnaghi in 1986, working at the firm's New York branch for ten years before moving to the London gallery in 1996. Working in the drawings department of Colnaghi, Stephen was r... esponsible for researching, writing and editing the gallery's annual catalogues of Master Drawings. In 2001 he helped to establish Jean-Luc Baroni Ltd. in London, assuming responsibility for the new firm's drawing department and organizing their successful drawings exhibitions. He has to date researched and written over thirty scholarly catalogues of drawings. Since 2006, Stephen Ongpin has worked independently as a private dealer, agent and consultant in the field of Old Master and Modern drawings. Stephen Ongpin Fine Art issues two or three catalogues of drawings a year, and and mounts two yearly exhibitions in its London gallery and one in a New York gallery, while also participating annually in TEFAF in Maastricht and the Salon du Dessin in Paris, as well as Masterpiece fair, London Art Week and the Frieze Masters fair in London.
