The institution was established with a purpose to empower researchers, organizations and governments by providing sound and evidence-based statistical research that enhances development. Statistics Research Centre strives to promote socio-economic development by making statistical data readily available. The organization has the capacity and the ex... pertise to provide precise statistics in project areas such as nutrition, food security, livelihoods, agriculture, produce markets, marketing industry, and industry in general leading to better project planning, policy and decision making. Our mark of distinction is the correct application of statistical methods in surveys and data analysis. Statistics Research Centre is also known as the Statistics Centre (SC). SC was registered with the registrar of companies in February 2019 in Zimbabwe. It is in the great interest of Statistics Research Centre to work with private, public organisations, academic institutions, government, non-governmental, multilateral organisations and donors. Statistics is about using data as the evidence on which to make decisions and assist to solve the world's problems. In January 2011, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries emphasized the use of data and statistics by saying: "From working out the best deals in the supermarket to understanding trends and probabilities that affect decisions in business, markets, economy, finances and politics.
