Star Dance Studio

Star Dance Studio was founded in 1999 by Leigh Tincher-McGuffey. "Miss Leigh" as her students affectionately call her saw a need in the Coweta County area for a choice in dance education. In 1999, after spending her life training and performing and the previous 8 years teaching for others, Leigh opened her own studio. At the end of the 1999-2000 se... ason, the studio proudly put on its first recital with just 35 students. As word of mouth traveled fast, the studio grew rapidly, causing the location to change three times in four years in order to accommodate the growing enrollment. Now the studio offers a wide variety of classes as new classes are added annually. Leigh is now certified through Dance Educators of America, the largest and oldest teacher training organization, and is a member of the Professional Dance Teacher's Association. Leigh is also a graduate of Marshall University where she double majored in theatre, dance and radio/TV broadcasting. Our goal at Star Dance Studio is to provide a quality dance education in a nurturing, positive, family-friendly environment. We pride ourselves on not only producing quality dancers, but encouraging those dancers to become quality people. We always use age appropriate costumes and choreography. But before making a commitment to enroll with us, we allow students to try a class for free. This allows both the student and parent to decide if we are the place for them. This practice also allows us to evaluate the dancer to determine if he or she is in the appropriate class. At Star Dance Studio we know not every child wants to go on to a career as a professional dancer. We ensure that proper technique is taught to all students, catering to both the recreational student (one who comes once or twice per week), as well as the serious student (one who comes multiple times per week).
