The school community actively shares decision making and responsibilities to foster a nurturing environment based on programs that use the best in technology and teaching and learning practice. High academic standards are expected and specialist programs are offered in Library, Art, Music, Physical Education and LOTE - German. The school provides extensive experiences for students with technology and all students in Grades 5 & 6 have a netbook computer. Spring Gully Primary School has a focus on catering for diversity for the learning needs of all students. There are targeted intensive intervention and extension programs for children at all levels of ability. Features of the school include a well-developed Peer Mediation program, positive approaches to student behaviour management, and parent involvement in the day-to-day curriculum programs. The curriculum is consistent with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS)with an emphasis placed on English, Mathematics, and the Arts.
