Diffusion is part of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK), a registered charity. SPCK is an Anglican mission agency, which works mainly through publishing to promote Christian ideas and values. However, Diffusion, while in line with Christian principles, does not promote Christian faith or seek to evangelise. Rather, through publish... ing easy-to-read books with realistic and engaging story lines we hope to encourage readers to consider the importance of family and the power of positive relationships and to inspire self-reflection and a sense of personal responsibility. SPCK has always seen prisons as a crucial part of our work and as long ago as 1706 was working to help release debtors from prisons and was funding activities within prisons. Today, we fund-raise from individuals and charitable trusts so that we can give Diffusion books to prisoners and ex-offenders for free.
