About Smart Energy Networks
Smart Energy Networks was formed in 2010 to assist energy companies to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to actively participate in development of technical specifications for the UK Smart metering rollout. They work with some of the 'Big 6' energy suppliers as a metering consultancy and have advised DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) since the beginning of the programme. Director John Cowburn has been in the metering industry for 30 years, designing solutions for prepay and Smart applications. He is convenor of the International standards body responsible for Smart metering functions and processes and represents the UK in Europe on several bodies, including the Smart grid information security group. He is chairman of the ZigBee Alliance EURO SIG.Explore more
