Showcase

Showcase is a musical theatre company open to anyone aged 16 or over who successfully passes an audition. The company was started by John Wright and Bobby Harvey in 1985 to raise money for charity using the musical skills and talents of some of the best "non-professional" performers in Edinburgh and the surrounding area. The aim is to produce a hig... hly entertaining and professional show incorporating a wide variety of musical styles. Since 1991 we have performed an annual show in the Church Hill Theatre and during that time Macmillan Cancer Support have been our chosen charity and we have raised in excess of £210,000 for them. We are considered by Macmillan Cancer Support to be one of their major supporters within the Lothians and Scotland as not only do we raise much needed funds but we also help them by increasing awareness of their objectives and achievements. The company also performs a series of concerts throughout the year to help augment its fundraising activities and annually entertains over 2000 people.
