SCGB - SportCheerGB

SportCheerGB (SCGB) has been in existence for several years, but for the last two years, volunteers from all of the major British cheerleading organisations (BCA, Future Cheer, ICC, CheerSport Wales & Scotcheer), also from representative schools and universities and some top all-star clubs across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have b... een regularly meeting and working together to create a single governing body for our sport. You may already have heard of "SportCheerGB", but probably have no idea what we do or why we exist. Why do we need SportCheerGB? Cheerleading in Britain, like any other sport, needs a single, unified national governing body to: Set and maintain standards (rules, safety, child protection) across the whole sport so that people can be involved with confidence and compete fairly. Promote cheerleading: working with government and other agencies to ensure that cheerleading is on the national agenda and that it is taken seriously. Develop cheerleading: working with government, internationally and with a range of agencies and charities to improve the quality of cheerleading and to create even more opportunities for people to participate at all levels.
