About Salient Law

We provide a national service, and advise clients across all sectors. Matters we advise on range from negotiating software licence agreements and IT outsourcing agreements, to advising on how to comply with data protection law. Salient Law was established to address the need for small and medium businesses to have access to more affordable legal advice on matters involving technology. Our goal is to ensure that businesses take the necessary steps to protect their assets, in order to avoid costly consequences in the future. We also provide support for in-house legal teams and law firms when they experience peaks in their workload. We work either as an outsourced legal services provider, or as an extension of the team. This provides in-house teams and law firms with an alternative resourcing option to a full time lawyer on a permanent or contract basis. To help keep our costs low, Salient Law operates on an unregulated basis under the Solicitors Regulation Authority's (SRA's) new rules tRead more

This provides in-house teams and law firms with an alternative resourcing option to a full time lawyer on a permanent or contract basis. To help keep our costs low, Salient Law operates on an unregulated basis under the Solicitors Regulation Authority's (SRA's) new rules that came into force on 25 November 2019. This means that our clients will not be entitled to receive a grant from the SRA Compensation Fund if something goes wrong. We are also not required to hold professional indemnity insurance equivalent to the SRA's minimum terms and conditions. However, all our solicitors are regulated by the SRA and must comply with the SRA's rules and code of conduct for solicitors. This means that our clients can be assured that they are receiving advice from fully qualified solicitors. All our solicitors also come from top international law firms and have a deep understanding of how the law applies to technology. They typically work remotely, which means that we do not need to pass on high office costs to clients in the form of higher fees. This enables us to provide our clients with access to affordable legal advice, without compromising on quality. Find out what we do For businesses and For Law Firms, and about Our fees.
