Our agency was created under New Hampshire RSA 203:4, as a municipal (public) corporation. We operate within the Town of Salem to provide decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing to low and moderate-income households. The Salem Housing Authority operates a Public Housing Program for low-income elderly and/or disabled households consisting of 1... 58 residential units at 3 sites. In order to be eligible, the head of household or co-head of household must be at least 62 years of age or disabled, and household income must be below the applicable income limits as noted below: The Salem Housing Authority also manages 24 rental units under the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, known as Downing Way. In order to be eligible, all household members must be at least 62 years of age and must qualify within the applicable income limits.
