Andy is the owner of Providence Financial. He and his wife Andrea are mid empty nesters with one child living at home and three children on their own. It can honestly be said that finances, business, and small-town life are woven throughout Andys DNA. When he was 6 his family left the east coast and eventually ended up in Pataskala, Ohio where his... father was the VP of Finance for a small manufacturing firm until he retired. After a few years, his dad started looking for a way to keep Andy and his four older brothers out of trouble while teaching them responsibility, so he bought an old-fashioned hardware store in nearby Johnstown. Consequently, Andys formative years were spent either going to schools surrounded by cornfields, or working by cutting glass, sharpening chainsaws, and bagging nails sold by the pound for those who farmed those fields. Andy attended nearby Ohio State University where he earned his degree while playing lead trumpet in the Universitys marching band (the largest all-brass band in the world), working an occasional Saturday at the hardware store, and winning the heart of Andrea, who later became his wife. After graduating with a BSBA in Finance, he was hired by Nationwide Insurance and spent his first 7 years in the home office learning many disciplines about business, financing and investing. Making his way to PEBSCO (a Nationwide subsidiary later renamed Nationwide Retirement Solutions) he began his training in retirement planning. Andy was promoted to Director of the State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan and the family moved to Jefferson City. After serving in that position for several years, Nationwide brought Andy back to Ohio to oversee the compliance and sales functions of 90 investment advisors. As both their sales manager and boss, he and his staff of attorneys and product and industry experts helped to ensure that these advisors were meeting their sales goals while safeguarding their clients interests.
