About Old Shawnee Pizza
Back in 1969, our founder, Joe Walker, was in a bit of a saucy situation. With a family to feed and a job selling insurance that wasn't bringing in enough dough, he decided to take a slice of a risk and ask his farmer father for a loan of $5,000.00. With that dough, he opened our first restaurant on Nieman Road in Shawnee, Kansas, in the old McAnany home. After years of perfecting our recipe and earning a loyal following of pizza enthusiasts, Joe realized it was time to rise to the occasion and move to a bigger building of our own. That's when we landed our current location at 60th & Nieman, where we continue to serve up piping hot pies and delicious sides. We're not just any pizza joint - we're a family-owned business that prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients and making our dough from scratch daily.
