Nur, with her husband and daughters, relocated to Covington and established "Nur's Kitchen" to accommodate their ever expanding business. Ender Metin, Nur's son-in-law, joined the kitchen as the full-time chief cook. Nur's Kitchen has established many loyal customers through local farmers markets. You can also find these fine dishes at Covington's... Acquistapaces Supermarket, Whole Foods, Langenstein's, Rouses, Breaux Mart and Springs of Life. Dishes include Hummus, Tabuli, Eggplant Dip, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Lima Bean Plaki, Fresh Leeks, Spinach & Artichoke Pies, Pestos, and Feta Cheese Dip. Nur believes in cooking with only fresh, high quality ingredients. Most ingredients come from local farmers markets. Nur credits her mother for her early training in cooking, followed by her extensive experience in operating her own restaurant on the Mediterranean. Turkish mothers teach their daughters to cook at an early age. Nur has continued the tradition by teaching her children the traditional Mediterranean recipes that have brought her so much success. Pairing tradition with her own good taste she has created recipes that are truly delicious and healthy. Eight years ago Nur Pinner visited New Orleans from her native Turkey to visit friends, but was inspired to sell her restaurant and make Louisiana her home. While Cajun dancing at Tipitina's, Nur met her husband, Clay Pinner, and together they began to sell Nur's famous dishes at the New Orleans farmers markets.
