Nexus Creative is a full service marketing agency based in Worcestershire. The company have been established for 21 years and aims to educate students from primary school to university level on the accessibility of the marketing industry to all, with services such as mentoring, sponsored prizes and exhibitions. For the past 3 years, Nexus Creative... have sponsored a prize at the University of Worcester. The Nexus Creative Prize for Outstanding Performance in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations is awarded to a final year student who is outstanding within their class. For the class of 2015/16, the award winner was 22 year old James Laws, who moved to Worcester four years ago to begin his Higher Education. James studied Advertising at Worcester, completing three years of full time study and one year in industry. When asked why he won the award, James was modest. "I got good grades throughout my course and did very well on my final year dissertation. I chose to do it on International Advertising, which I had existing research on following my placement year." James chose to join the International Marketing team at the University for his industry placement, undertaking the role of Digital Marketing Officer. He worked on digital marketing campaigns in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America noting that "all the regions have different approaches to advertising so adapting the campaigns to different cultures was really interesting and gave me first hand exposure to international advertising". James is continuing to work at the University of Worcester as a Graduate Ambassador. The role involves going into schools and colleges to help and inform post 16 students in the local Worcestershire area on Higher Education. Following the 18 month contract, he would love to combine his love of film, Formula 1 and advertising as the next step in his career.Read More
