In order to ensure the relevance of the spaces we design, we conduct research into current and projected trends in the way people live and interact with the built environment. Established in 1968, NBRS is a multi-disciplinary design practice of 80 people able to work as an integrated team across specialised studios. The specialised studios are; the Education Studio, Justice Studio, Life & Culture Studio, Wellness Studio, Heritage Studio, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design. The foundation of NBRS is based on developing creative design partnerships both within our studio but also with our clients and collaborators. Our portfolio spanning public and private sectors exhibit an understanding of the people whose lives will be affected. In 2018 NBRSARCHITECTURE was proud to celebrate its 50th year. Sydney, Australia in 1968 was a very different place. The population was expanding and the city was dreaming of becoming a global centre of excellence for commerce, education, culture, health and sport. The 1960s was a great decade to start an architectural practice. With that backdrop in the year of Beatlemania and the Vietnam War, Noel Bell invited Ridley Smith to form an architectural partnership.
