Metro Communications, Inc. was founded in 1980 in Lafayette, LA, as a Muzak Affiliate by its President and CEO Joseph W. Swain, Jr. and purchased the Muzak assets from Acadian Audio. In 1984 Metro Communications purchased the assets of Business Music Company (Muzak local affiliate) and opened its then branch office in Jackson, MS. In August 1986 Me... tro made Jackson its corporate headquarters and changed Lafayette to a branch office as part of our long term business plan. In February 1988 Metro purchased assets of the Muzak franchise in Alexandria and Monroe, LA and now serves that area as part of our growth plan. In September 1999 Metro purchased the assets of the Greenwood, MS (Delta) Muzak Affiliate as part of our continued Mississippi expansion. May 2005 Metro Communications, Inc. will celebrate 25 years of sales and service excellence. This growth and longevity is attributed to a great staff committed to customer service along with community involvement. In 2005 Muzak will celebrate its 75th anniversary, a true testament to the brand and products produced by Muzak. Both Metro and Muzak continue to think outside the box and listen to our customers. Voice (Audio Marketing on Hold) is one of Muzak's rapidly growing new products to enhance our customers' image. In addition to Muzak we are heavily engaged in Commercial Sound, partnering with brands such as Bose and Klipsch. Other products include Drive-thru Intercoms for fast food restaurants along with Closed Circuit TV for those customers that have a need for security. Recent years have seen Metro expand into Business TV partnering with Dish Network to provide this video service. Metro's Electronic Technician's have many years of experience with a strong electronics education.
