Mary's Cafe opened its doors in the summer of 1995, when Mary Vu decided to use the recipes that her adoptive mother, Jessie Ray Duckworth taught her after coming to the US in 1975. Back then, Mary barely spoke any English and was missing her homeland "Vietnamese" cuisine, but she learned how to love cooking good ole southern food. Since its openin... g, Mary's Cafe has become a favorite place among both locals and non-locals to eat home style cooking. Regular customers come from Rock Hill and as far as Lancaster to eat at Mary's. Mary Vu is a hard working woman that knows the value of a dollar. She takes pride in providing her patrons a wonderful meal at a decent price. In fact, Mary's has received the Buzz Award for Best Value 9 out of 10 years.
