Mahone's Wallcovering

Mahones Wallcovering Inc. was started in 1969 by W. W. Mahone. When he started the business he had a simple plan. He wanted to offer quality products at exceptional prices while providing a level of customer service not matched by anyone. W.W. was no stranger to hard work, being a paper hanger himself, so he set off to make his dream a reality. Mah... ones started in a small house in Lynchburg, VA. W.W. carefully turned each bedroom in to a beautiful showroom to display the wallpapers he had to offer. Low on money, he contacted a local concrete company and offered to take the leftover concrete off their hands by having them dump it into his yard. With hard work, he utilized this concrete to create the parking lot for his new business. To make his house and new business stand out amongst the other residential and commercial properties in the area, W.W. grabbed a paint brush and put on a bright new coat of red paint. Now with a proper storefront, W.W. hit the pavement letting everyone from the newspapers to the neighbors know about Mahones Wallcovering. For the past 40 plus years Mahones has changed very little. You can still find Carolyn Mahone, W.W.s daughter in law, in the showroom helping local decorators make the perfect choices in wallpapers, fabrics, blinds and more. W.W.s son Walter still pops in every day to say hello and see how things are going. While Danny, Walter senior older son moved on to pursue a different dream, his hard work and dedication to the company helped keep it going. Mahones has always been a family business and that tradition carries on even today. W.W. would be proud to see his grandson Patrick and his wife Melissa moving Mahones into the modern era.
