MY NAME IS LORI GRAFF HARRIS. I am a holistic Health and Wellness Coach who is passionate about guiding women in their mid-life toward optimal health, vibrant lives, and feeling good not after the next job, promotion, or move, not after losing the next 5,10, or 20 pounds, I have learned that despite the many physical and emotional changes, and some... times the uncertainties, that can come with our middle years, we actually CAN feel great, and enjoy each step of the powerful journey toward getting there. This work has profound meaning, because Ive seen how it can change the lives of women and, in turn, the people they love. In fact, I have experienced it myself firsthand. Several years ago, I felt caught in my own downward physical and mental spiral. Hormonal changes, feeling increasingly at odds with my body, my energy levels, my sense of self. It affected me on multiple levels, and often felt like it had taken over my life-- body and soul. I had trouble sleeping and was tired all the time. My nails were brittle, my hair was thinning and my weight was suddenly changing. What used to work no longer did. I was no longer so confident- in myself, in what to eat, or how to exercise to fix it. Overwhelm led to non-action, which led to feeling even more stuck and frustrated. I could feel my relationships changing; with my family, friends, career and with myself. I no longer felt entirely comfortable in my own skin, and that affected how I related to everyone else in my world. Grown children, aging parents and my own move to a new city required that I reach out to new people. But how? All this created loneliness and a feeling of floating without many of my most trusted anchors. During this time, my niece, who was like a sister and best friend to me, passed away. She was so precious to me, and suddenly she was gone. The profound sadness and loss also sparked in me some deeper questions about life.
