I have been asked to review a set of guidelines supplied, I believe, by an events company laying out their standards for staff, contractors and on-site exhibitors. A response to this type of submission is clearly needed well ahead of the event. In this case they are asking for three weeks, not unreasonable. I suggest advisers need to be pro-active... in asking Venue Operations Managers with Front of House responsibility if they have had these and have dealt with them already or need help. Interestingly there is no mention of whether the organisers have required such companies to produce other documentation such as their H&S policy, policy statement, HSMS organisation and any safe system of work applicable. I will be asking if these are already submitted, perhaps during tendering or purchasing stages.
