These purchased assets are themselves held in two subsidiaries namely Karbochem (Pty) Ltd and The Synthetic Latex Company (Pty) Ltd. Karbochem (Pty) Ltd is a manufacturer of world competitive synthetic rubbers and elastomeric materials for the tyre, industrial and sporting-goods markets in South Africa, Africa, Australia, South America, Europe, Asia, the UK and the USA. It operates from sites in Sasolburg and Newcastle. The company origin dates back to 1964. The Synthetic Latex Co (Pty) Ltd, formerly a joint venture between Revertex S.A. and Sentrachem Ltd, produces styrene-butadiene, styrene-acrylate and pure acrylic latices primarily for the South African construction, road, paper and board, carpet, textile, adhesive, automotive and paint industries. It operates a multi-purpose plant at its site in Sasolburg. Karbochem Holdings and its subsidiaries share a state-of-the-art Customer Service Centre in Bruma, Johannesburg and jointly employ approximately 400 people, of which 350 are permanently employed at its three operating sites.Read More
