Jimco was founded in 1963 as a small assembly operation selling lamps regionally and has emerged over the past 45 years as a major supplier to portable lighting markets internationally. Jimco's multiple divisions service a substantial share of the retail lighting industry including channels of distribution such as mass merchants, design-centric ret... ail, specialty stores, the internet, home centers, contract and direct mail. In 1994, Jimco introduced the J. Hunt and Company division to service the company's more fashion forward customer base. Just 4 years later, an international office was established in Dongguan, China. This location houses product development staff, graphic artists, import logistics, account managers and quality control teams. In 2009, J. Hunt Home was added with a focus on creating upscale lighting, furniture, and accessories for catalogers and specialty retail chains across the United States and Canada. Jimco and J. Hunt and Company share warehouse and showroom space in Southaven, Mississippi. Additional showrooms are located in Dongguan, China; High Point, North Carolina; and Brentwood, Tennessee.
