Jacobs Financial is a family-owned financial services firm, located in St. Cloud, Minn. The company is committed to providing financial strategies to meet the lifetime financial goals of its clients. Our aim is to treat each client - individual, family, business owner, professional - like a family member. Founder James (Jim) Jacobs and sons, Andrew... and David, take pride in their professional integrity and ideals of service, and work to foster strong relationships within the community. Their goal is to build a legacy of sound financial practice, together. The Jacobs' financial practice received its early inspiration and guidance from Jim's father-in-law, David (Dave) Willmore, an independent insurance agent who began his practice in Minneapolis in 1964. With Dave's encouragement, Jim entered the insurance business in 1973 and opened a satellite office in St. Cloud. Over the next five years, he earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, and his securities' license. In 1979 Dave and Jim formed a partnership as Jacobs, Willmore & Associates, and established an office in the Westgate Mall in St. Cloud. Two years later, they moved downtown to a larger space at the St. Cloud Business Center. When Dave passed away in 1992, Jim continued on. The Jacobs Agency, as it was now known, served clients for over 25 years at that downtown location. The firm was greatly challenged in 1999 when Jim was diagnosed with a non-terminal form of cancer. The Jacobs' family evaluated their options for the company's future and Jim's own personal legacy, and soon after, Andy and Dave decided to join their futures with their father's. They gained experience, passed insurance licenses and securities registrations, and proved to be valuable, full-time members of the Jacobs' financial team.
