About HYPAR
HYPAR (Helping Young People At Risk) is an innovative support service, specialising in providing mentoring and respite services for young males. We provide highly skilled male mentors who have experience and training in working with young people with complex behaviours. We believe that supportive relationships are a key factor in building resilience in at-risk children. In fact, research shows that children who can identify one person in their life who believes in them and offers support when needed are more resilient to stress in the long term (Werner, 1993). Involvement in community activities and a sense of connectedness also help to build resilience in at-risk children. This is another way in which HYPAR mentors aim to help the young males we work with.
