Like a business we will invest in items such as: Construction materials for the house Strategic planning and development (to ensure the entire operation is run strategicall... y and effectively) Organisational infrastructure (such as computer systems to ensure to we are as efficient as possible in serving families in need, getting the maximum value out of every available dollar) Accounting (to generate financial accountability documentation to ensure maximum transparency) Communications staff (to ensure calls from families and donors alike are answered as promptly, and effectively) Awareness campaigns (to spread the word about what Hummingbird House does, its importance and available services to families in need, medical practitioners and donors alike). It is expected (assuming no natural disasters) that the construction will be complete by Christmas 2015, at which time final stages of team training and on-site preparations will take place. As soon as everything is in place to deliver exceptional service and guest experiences we will begin to welcome families. We expect to open in early 2016 with a well-planned schedule of service delivery that we will review and recalibrated as necessary based on lessons learned once the House is operational. To ensure we have the best possible service delivery we will employ a 'soft opening', starting with a small number of families and progressively increasing the number of families until we are functioning at full capacity.Read More
