Here's Looking At You

We are open through 7/12. The patio is yours to enjoy. Here's Looking At You is a fun little restaurant in Koreatown. If you're looking at a map, it's the "heart" of Los Angeles. We opened in the hot summer of 2016, the first of its kind to tout "Los Angeles cuisine," every dish, LA on a plate, illuminating the intersection of the multicultures tha... t make up our city, and therefore, make up today's American. Any given night, our 50-seat restaurant & cocktail bar was filled with loyal, excitable regulars, charismatic bartenders donning tiki shirts (on Thursdays), and a staff of fierce, kind individualists, many of whom have been with us since day one. We were named a "Restaurant of the Year" by Food & Wine Magazine, one of "America's 38 Essential Restaurants" by Eater, and we are the subject of "Becoming a Restaurateur" by author Patric Kuh. On Sunday, March 15, in the middle of serving brunch, the power went out. Before it was ever restored, we were mandated to close in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since March 15, our entire staff has been on furlough, including us: the owners. With the help of our pastry chef and others, we activated a series of events in collaboration with our sister restaurant All Day Baby. These events provided us with a faint pulse. It helped us stay connected with you. It was our opportunity to still do what we love, cook and serve as safely as possible. Now with the help of the CARES Act small-business loan program, we have been given a new life line of approximately eight weeks. We have rehired staff to activate a modest operation to safely accommodate takeout and delivery. We are also providing meals to frontline workers in partnership with Dine11. Your takeout orders during this summer stint will be a vital indication of whether we can truly weather the COVID-19 times. Every tartare counts. To be continued.Read More
