HALE (Health Action Local Engagement) is a healthy living project working across Shipley, Frizinghall, Bingley, Baildon, Wharfedale, Windhill and Wrose. HALE was set up in 2003 and became an independent charity in 2008. Although we have grown and developed over the years, our overall aim remains the same: to improve people's health where there is t... he greatest need. We work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and pride ourselves on having a skilled team of community health workers who understand that to make a difference to people's health and wellbeing, local people themselves need to be involved in developing projects right from the start. The work of our team is overseen by a Management Committee comprising local residents, health professionals and representatives from other organisations in the area. As well as working with local people, we often work in partnership with community groups, schools, GP practices, Bradford Council and other organisations. The HALE team is based in central Shipley but all our work takes place out and about throughout the local area. Most of our work takes place within the Shipley constituency, but we also work in Frizinghall, Manningham and Heaton, and our Welcome To Bradford Refugee and Asylum Seeker Networker Project is city-wide.Read More
