About FRANK

Located in Sinn-Fleisbach, one hour north of Frankfurt, this established firm is only a stones-throw away from its nascent home in the small community of Niederscheld, located along the banks of the Dill River. The "Schmiedehammer bei Niederscheld" was founded in August of 1607 by Count George of Nassau- nephew of William of Orange- at a time when the laws of inheritance made possible the sale of estates from which timber and iron ore could be used to fuel larger-scale ironworks. Annual production of wrought iron from the Niederscheld Hütte rose to nearly four tons by 1650. The firm literally forged its reputation along the banks of the small river Dill, becoming one of the largest forges and later iron smelters in the region, producing much-needed materials like nails and wire. In 1839 Christian Frank bought the company and in 1965 it was renamed Frank'sche Eisenwerke GmbH, Adolfshütte. In 1839 Christian Frank bought the company and in 1965 it was renamed Frank'sche Eisenwerke GmbH, Adolfshütte. By, the early 1900s, Frank'sche Eisenwerke became a leading manufacturer of heating and cooking stoves-a tradition now carried on by another former Frank'sche Eisenwerke unit, Oranier Heiz- und Kochtechnik GmbH, located in nearby Weidenhausen, Frank Walz- und Schmiedetechnik GmbH in Reddinghausen, also once part of Frank'sche Eisenwerke, continues the production of machine parts. After the complete destruction in World War II the company was completely reconstructed. In 1968 the production of high pressure cleaning machine starts - the first high pressure cleaner leaves the production line. In 1985 the first Self-Service Wash Station follows. Today, FRANK GmbH is a niche firm, specializing in the production of the highest quality steam cleaners, high pressure washers and self-service wash stations.
