Shingle manufactures have made significant changes to their products in recent years, and many manufacturers now have a Lifetime warranty on their shingles and roofing systems. It does take special installation techniques and specific underlayment products in order to be able to offer those warranties. At Excalibur Roofing, all of our representatives and installers are properly trained on these products and techniques by the manufactures. At Excalibur Roofing, we choose to use fully waterproof and synthetic underlayment in order to offer extra protection for your home. Although this upgrade may not be visible after your new shingles are installed, it does offer extra protection to your home and peace of mind. Many cities in the Des Moines Metro area have differing codes when it comes to installing a new roof. Some permits may be required when replacing a new roof and we will let you know, and take care of permits for you. Some cities in the Des Moines area require at least one layer of Ice & Water barrier at the eaves of your home. We firmly believe in the installation of Ice & Water barrier on every home even if it is not required by code. This extra layer will protect your home against potential damage from some of those winter storms we receive here in Central Iowa.
