With a wealth of both academic and business experience under his belt, Gareth Nash is a recent acquisition to the ELMI team. He has joined ELMI as the new Head of Academics. Having worked in academia both nationally and internationally, Gareths experience encompasses working with undergraduate and postgraduate students within multiple disciplines,... including Commerce, Science, Law, Education and the Humanities. His focus within these disciplines has been on the design and development of curricula with a view to ensuring that students receive the most up-to-date and appropriate education. Most recently, Gareth was the head of the Academic Literacy programme for Commerce Foundation students at the University of KwaZulu-Natal a programme he designed and initiated in 2007. A graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Gareth is keenly aware of the role that education plays in the South African landscape. This, coupled with extensive business experience, means that he has the best interests of the students at heart and is driven by two questions: what more can we do for our students and how can we do it better? Walrich has been in the classroom for the past 8 year. Having worked for various colleges in East London, he has made ELMI his full time home for the past 4 years. His main responsibility is to ensure that the Full Time and Part Time IT students get the best possible education with a blend of both face-to-face lecturing as well as in-class practical work. He is a certified MCT and MCP and when he is not in class, he fulfils the role of IT Manager to ensure all of ELMIs systems are available to students and working at optimum levels. Furthermore, he makes sure that students can have campus-wide free WIFI. His training expertise includes MCSA/MCSE Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, MCSA Windows 10, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and more.
