Cherwell currently owns and manages approximately 2,200 properties in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and will continue to invest resources in meeting the ever-increasing need for new homes, including improving and repairing an aged housing stock, and meeting the challenges of community care and the demand for quality and value for money. Cherwell Family Housing Association Limited, a subsidiary of the Trust, is a non-charitable registered housing association which was established in 1981 to develop low cost home ownership scheme, market rented housing, and other housing initiatives which were not permitted within the Trust's charitable rules and purpose. Cherwell Housing Trust and Cherwell Family Housing Association Limited are regulated by the Housing Corporation, a government agency.
