Dixie Electric Cooperative

Today, Dixie Electric Cooperative serves approximately 16,000 member-owners in Barbour, Bullock, Montgomery, Macon, Lee, Lowndes, Pike and Tallapoosa counties. Twelve substations ranging in size from 3,750 kVA to 25,000 kVA, serve these nearly 16,000 member-owners. As of January 2001, there were 2,300 miles of lines as compared to the 357 miles con... structed in the initial phase. Throughout the years, the board of trustees, management and employees of the cooperative have worked to provide members with the most reliable electric service at the most economical cost. The board and management, like those 60 years before them, realize that success is measured not in miles of line or kilowatt hours sold, but rather in member satisfaction with their cooperative and the service it provides.
