Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre

Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre Inc. (DHCC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1972 to promote communication access and cultural awareness between Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing communities. Based in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, DHCC serves a tri-state region encompassing southeastern Pennsylvania (including Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery,... Delaware, and Chester counties), lower Lehigh counties, northern Delaware, and southern New Jersey. The organization delivers its mission through three core service pillars: communication access services, education, and advocacy. Communication access offerings include professional sign language interpreting and CART (real-time captioning) services, supported by a team of certified, thoroughly screened interpreters who have worked with high-profile clients including mayors, governors, and other prominent figures. Education services span American Sign Language (ASL) classes, sensitivity training, and specialized workshops designed to build understanding across communities. DHCC's advocacy work helps individuals secure communication access to services, businesses, educational institutions, and employment opportunities.
