Safe shelter and loving care for youth facing homelessness. Covenant House empowers young people to overcome homelessness and trafficking by providing them with safe housing, food and clothing, and relentless support. In 31 cities and counting across the United States, Latin America, and Canada, young people are finding hope, strengthening their re... silience, and making progress towards their goals with the help of Covenant Houses continuum of care, which includes job training, education opportunities, legal aid, health care, and mental health counseling as well as birthday parties, movie nights, and community meetings. Through it all, Covenant House is guided by the principles of offering every young person unconditional love and absolute respect. When COVID-19 hit, unhoused people were forced to ask: "How do you shelter in place when you don't have a home?" Covenant House has remained open for young people with nowhere to go. Our essential workers adapted quickly to keep our Houses safe and our youth healthy. Sleepers do more than give up their beds. Unhoused young people have often been let down by institutions and adults in their life. With the loving determination of our front-line staff and the passionate commitment from our Sleep Out community, that changes when they walk through our doors.
