About Cornell Alpha Fund

The Alpha Fund of Cornell is one of the longest running student-led investment funds on campus. Since our founding in 2007, we have educated and engaged students in the world of finance and investing. We are a long/short tactical fund with a growth at a reason price (GARP) strategy. We manage over thirty thousand dollars of our members' money and have posted consistent returns since our inception. We believe a diversified portfolio is the key to success. For this reason, we invest in equities, ETFs, derivatives, and FX. Our broad array of investment vehicles allows for members to learn about various different aspects of the financial markets. Our team of partners comes from a variety of fields across campus, ranging from ILR to Engineering. Alex Downey is a senior Operations Research and Information Engineering major. His experiences include starting a small hedge fund, internships at SRC Inc. and Magnus Ridge Winery. His other interests include skiing, scuba diving, and traveling. AndRead more
